Tip sheet
The following steps will be used to assist students in an online course who have to work collaboratively and synchronously in a group task. They are intended to organize a virtual meeting using a tool that would allow them to discuss the assignment orally.
Google Hangouts is a useful tool that allows group members to collaborate via online chat, screen sharing, video chat, and document sharing with up to 10 people. Google Hangouts works across computers and on Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. |

Reflection
M6 Tip Sheet Partner Project Revised
Considering potential colorblind students, I changed the red color in the embedded document with the collaborative Tips Sheet and edited the button to access it. This activity was for me the most interesting and engaging. I really enjoyed working with my colleague and it was a challenge to coordinate our schedules considering the different time zones. I am very satisfied with the final result.
Facilitators have (at least in my experience) to collaborate often with other fellow teachers, and this is also part of the skills that facilitators, trainers, teachers, etc., have to develop and practice in order to reach excellence in teaching. The “how” it is very important, but facilitators cannot lost the “what”. Creating tips and instructions for a tool is not that obvious (specially when we know “how to use” them), it is important to reflect beforehand and choose the starting point we will assume for the class (in this, for instance, we decided no to explain what is Google or the principles of videoconferencing) and the basic information that we will provide as facilitators. I like the “keep it simple” philosophy (only one tool at a time and one tool only) I do believe that is crucial if we ant our students to be “focus” on the task they’ll have to complete.
